The Board Approves Place And Date of the AGM

Ekaterinburg — May 2, 2006 - Uralsvyazinform (RTS and MICEX: URSI/URSIP, ADR: UVYZY/UVYZYP), the leading carrier of fixed-line and mobile services in the Urals region, Russia reports on the date and place of the forthcoming Annual General Meeting.
On April 28, 2006 the Board of Directors approved the place and date of Annual General Meeting of Shareholders.
The AGM will take place on June 22, 2006 at 10.00 a.m. (local time) at the following location: 44, Kuybyshev St., Ekaterinburg, Russia. The registration of persons participating in the meeting starts at 8.00 a.m.
Record date (the date of compiling the list of persons entitled to participate in the AGM) — May 5, 2006.
